Abstract

Urban green spaces are a part of public infrastructures that play an effective role in improving the quality of urban life by providing a wide range of functions for the city environment. Considering this, the optimal provision of these spaces and their optimal and fair distribution At the city level, it is of great importance and helps us to reach a justice-oriented city. The current research was carried out with the aim of investigating the status and distribution of green space in the areas of Urmia city and determining the optimal places for the future creation and development of green space. The research is applied-developmental in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of method with a quantitative approach. The collection of data and information has been done using library-documentary studies, and Shannon's entropy method has been used for data analysis, and finally, the prioritization of the development of new and upcoming green spaces in the city of Urmia has been done using the opinions of 20 experts and experts in green space and urban planning with The help of GIS software was determined. The results of the research showed that the distribution of green spaces in the city of Urmia among the five urban regions has not been done according to their population, in other words, the spatial justice of green use has not been observed between its areas, so that zone 5 of this city has 2.977 square meters of green space per capita. It has the first rank for having green space, and region four has the lowest amount of green space and ranks last with 0.611 square meters per capita.
